How Rando

Hello everyone!

My name is Gisela Rando, pronounced He-say-la. On September 21, 2019 I got married to the love of my life. On October 25, 2019 I entered the world of being a stay at home wife. While that sounds lovely, it can be challenging. For one, we are now a one income household, and life is expensive! Another factor is how lonely it can be. I am in school part time, but 90% of my day is at home - alone. We did rescue two dogs so I have company, but my human interaction is far and few in between. I guess that's why I am starting this blog up.

A little background about me.

I am an only child and have great relationship with my parents. My parents are my role models and best friends. I know that if I ever have an issue or need help I can always go to them and seek their advice. Growing up I learned English and Spanish at the same time. I am very proud to be Colombian American and firmly believe that Colombia is the most beautiful place on Earth.

When I was in the 5th grade I wanted to be a forensic pathologist, it wasn't until the 11th grade did that change. My English teacher told me that I was too bubbly and could not see me working with dead people. Since then I changed what I wanted to be every season. However in college I did have the opportunity to dissect a human body and held a human brain four times in my life. I ended up getting my degree in psychology and worked for five years in mental health. My very first job was working with at risk teens, and that's where a spark of teaching children began. I was very lucky with my first job and met some amazing women that will always hold a special place in my heart. After about a year and a half, I switched over to working with the mentally ill and homeless in my county. This was a demanding job both physically and emotionally, but I did learn so much from this job. I began to appreciate having bills, waking up at 5 am, and a job that I didn't necessarily love. I worked with my clients on helping them gain a steady income, housing, and other basic needs.

In the summer of 2018 I realized that I really loved teaching people, primarily kids. I spoke to my family and husband about making a career switch. In January 2019 I enrolled in a community college to begin working on getting my teaching license. I was excited going to class, and it just felt right. Maybe its because I'm 10 years older than I was when I first started going to college, but I make sure I attend every class, and have been doing well on the material.

While I was also going to college, working a full time job, I was also planning my wedding and buying a house! I was a little frazzled this year. On March 18, 2019 my husband and I bought our very first house. In September we had the most beautiful wedding and were surrounded by love. We left for Cancun two days after the wedding. To our delightful surprise we met two other couples at the hotel that lived in the same state and were only about an hour drive from us! One couple also got married on 9/21 and the other couple was celebrating their anniversary. Who knew that you could meet your life long friends in a totally different country?

On October 25, 2019 I punched the clock for the last time in the mental health field and transitioned into being a stay at home wife. In 7 days, (November 1), we adopted two senior chihuahuas, Thelma and Louise. These little doggies are the cutest little babies. And yes, they are 100% spoiled and know it.

So what now?

My goal is for this blog to bring a smile to someone's face. I want to share with you all what I do in my house, in my life, and in my education/career. I love cleaning and decorating, I enjoy cooking (although I am not the greatest), and I want to share my family with you. If you want to read more about my Rando life, please subscribe and share with your friends!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a beautiful day!
